The North East Scotland Climate Action Network (NESCAN) Hub is a regional community climate action support hub, fully funded by the Scottish Government, covering Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. We are a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee and regulated by OSCR and Companies House.

Our vision is to contribute to the creation of a flourishing, connected and sustainable North East Scotland through the provision of dedicated support, resources and training to enable community led climate action and communities being at the heart of a just transition.

NESCAN Hub Board Member - Treasurer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a knowledgeable and dynamic individual to join the NESCAN Hub Board as its Treasurer. The new Board member will contribute to the delivery of the Hub’s vision and aims by providing leadership, direction, and advice to the NESCAN Hub Team and specifically around finance. This is a volunteer role that will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to be an integral part of our dedicated team and make a positive impact to the North East of Scotland, its communities and its environment. 

Title: NESCAN Hub Board Member - Treasurer

Salary: Volunteer

Location: Aberdeen City/Aberdeenshire

Hours: Approximately 6 hours per month, including attendance at Board meeting for two and a half hours every quarter (online and in Aberdeen City)

Term of office:  3 years with possibility to renew for further 3 years

Reports to: NESCAN Hub Board Chair

Closing date: 31st March 2025

We are looking for an individual with relevant knowledge and experience in:

  • Charity accounting
  • Financial Systems
  • Fundraising

Ideally you would have an accountancy qualification.

Board members are expected to attend and actively participate in meetings, provide advice, and respond to queries from other Board members and NESCAN Hub Team members, share and disseminate relevant information, learning and good practice with the Board and Team, and contribute to decision-making and the achievement of the NESCAN Hub’s vision and aims.
