NESCAN Hub is a charity dedicated to supporting communities in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire who want to take action—big or small—to combat climate change in our region. We do this in many ways, including:

- Offering small-scale funding to kickstart projects and help with other funding opportunities and applications.
- Providing networking opportunities, both in person and online.
- Offering guidance and support in collaboration with our amazing partners from our region and further afield.

Just 10 Reasons to Join the NESCAN Community
- Be inspired for free! Not much in life is free AND valuable, but becoming a member is. Whether you have a seedling idea that needs further development, or you simply don't know where to start, as a member you have access to all our services and resources.
- Get help with funding. Only our members can access our SEED and the LEAF funding that can be used to kickstart your projects – enabling you to take action on climate change and biodiversity, at the same time as improving the place where you live.
- Your impact is greater than you think. Being part of a community group or taking individual climate action benefits not just the planet but also your personal wellbeing—whether through new friendships, increased fitness, or seeing the difference you are making to where you live and work.
- Build your skills. Our members benefit from free training sessions, as well as member events and valuable toolkits to help you get started with your climate action projects and build capacity within your community.
- Be part of a supportive peer learning & support network. Join our relaxed, welcoming bimonthly online evening member meetings, share your knowledge and experience and learn from others in a friendly atmosphere, hear from guest speakers and find out what’s going on locally.
- Get an invite to our yearly members' gathering. Meet the team and like-minded members during a fun and productive day of networking and learning (plus get to cast your vote at the AGM). You can also enjoy early access to other free events as we always aim to let members get first dibs on sign-ups for our and our partners’ upcoming events.
- Exclusive one-on-one social media training. We offer our members free 15-minute ‘how-to’ sessions to help you, and your group raise awareness of your project, attract volunteers, and secure funding.
- Dedicated Community Development Officers. Our team works tirelessly to support local efforts—setting up and supporting local events, highlighting funding opportunities, and offering face-to-face expert guidance and much more.
- Take part in Climate Week North East (CWNE) and Envirolution Aberdeen. CWNE, founded in 2014 by Aberdeen Climate Action and now organised by NESCAN Hub, has been a beacon of community engagement—raising awareness about climate change and promoting sustainable living. In 2024, our first-ever Envirolution Aberdeen was a huge success, bringing people together to run stalls, volunteer, and enjoy a fantastic day at Seaton Park.
